Why choose us?

Benefits of Children's Dental Anesthesia

We believe our services are advantageous to you and your child!

Bypassing the hospital

Children’s Dental Anesthesia provides care from the comfort of your preferred dentist’s office. This eliminates the anxiety for a child associated with being treated in a hospital setting or operating room. The procedure will be completed in a cozy dental office chair, and your child may even bring along their own blanket or stuffed animal to sleep with throughout their appointment.

Minimizing Appointments

Multiple appointments are often required for children with large amounts of needed dental treatment. With Children’s Dental Anesthesia, the number of appointments for you and your child will be significantly reduced- many times to just one! How? Anesthesia care creates a calm, movement-free work environment for your dentist. With your child sleeping soundly, your dentist can perform complicated procedures very efficiently. The overall productivity of appointments with Children’s Dental Anesthesia allows your dentist to accomplish more treatment in one appointment.

Avoiding needles and drills

Many patients are fearful of pain from dental needles or drills, especially those of pre-cooperative age, those who experience high anxiety, or those with specific disabilities or special needs. With our modern anesthesia equipment, your child may sleep, pain-free, and avoid the awareness of all details of the dental procedure. We can even ease your child off to sleep with fruity smelling medications using a soft mask to avoid shots, bitter-tasting medications, and awake IV placement.

Questions?

FAQ

Yes, anesthesia in the dental office is safe. There are NOT higher risks associated with anesthesia in a dental office compared to a hospital. The risks are the same and the risks are low when preoperative instructions and fasting instructions are followed. Additionally, all monitoring equipment and medications used are exactly the same as what is being used in hospitals.

Even if a patient is completely healthy, it is required for a history and physical assessment (H&P) to be completed by a physician before a patient receives anesthesia. The purpose of this assessment is to determine if any modifications need to be made to the anesthesia plan based on the patient’s medical conditions and current health status.
